Where to eat?

The Castilian and Madrid cuisine has a strong presence in the restaurants of our town. A cuisine that, is fomed by the local products from our fields have been offering over time, sinks its roots in the homes of firewood of the peasants, modest and simple, but with great nutritional content and delicacy, where the spoon has had an important presence.

The oil and garlic have special importance in the seasoning of stews and fried, being typical of the place different types of garlic meats (rabbit and lamb, mainly) without forgetting the use of the tender sprouts of garlic (ajetes) that have been protagonists of the morateñas kitchens.

In any of the restaurants in Morata you can still find typical and tradicional dishes along with new culinary bets that make our stoves comfortable and deserving places to be visited.

From the humble garlic and Castilian soups to the exquisite roast lamb, moving on to other dishes such as garlic rabbit, tacos de cordero al ajo, gypsy pot (olla gitana), gachas or carne a la piedra, can be found in the menus of our restaurants… A cuisine that undoubtedly deserves to be tasted.

MESÓN RESTAURANTE EL CID. Carmen Street 36, at the exit of the town on the M-315 road towards Valdelaguna.

A traditional and varied cuisine, where you can taste its famous gypsy pot.

RESTAURANTE LICINIA. Carmen Street 24.

Restaurant that offers a cuisine that without forgetting the traditional and the morateña culinary culture, bets on its menu for novelties of excellent result.

RESTAURANTE EL ALTO. Road M-311m km. 4,500 (Chinchon road).

A traditional roadside restaurant of which its rabbit with garlic is reknown, made with the traditional country recipe.

RESTAURANTE LIBRA II. Poyales Street, 3.

A restaurant with a lounge for more than 200 people that also offers the best of traditional home cooking, where quality, good prices and great service, are combined with the originality of their dishes.

In addition to these four restaurants, Morata has an excellent and numerous offer of taverns and bars in which you can taste a variety of tapas and rations on its pleasant terraces and spaces that can undoubtedly make your visit a pleasant experience.

La Morateña is a rural house with capacity for 8 people. It has 3 floors with lounge-dining room, fully equipped kitchen and patio, a total of 4 bathrooms one per floor with 3 double bedrooms, 1 double room with bathroom included.

Located in a quiet but well connected place with the centre of the village, close to the green road of the tajuña where you can take a pleasant bike ride.

It is a new house of quiet and cozy construction where you can enjoy with friends and family members a wonderful holiday.
